Virgin Atlantic Encourages Customers to Keep Their Clothes On!

Virgin Atlantic says it is proud to be the first UK airline to participate in the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) TSA Preü® (also known as “TSA Precheck®”) programme.
From now on Virgin Atlantic customer’s enrolled in TSAü Pre can skip the slower security queues and enjoy a faster, easier security screening process when departing from US airports, so that they have more time to relax in Virgin Atlantic’s Clubhouse or explore the shops and restaurants in the terminal. The airline says the average customer with TSAü Pre spends less than five minutes when travelling through US airports such as JFK. WithTSA Preü, there’s no need to remove shoes, light jackets, or belts. Laptops and compliant liquids can also remain in hand luggage, making the trip through security at the airport a breeze.
Virgin says its new programme marks a step change in the experience customers will have at US airports, and is simple to access. Qualifying customers who enter a valid Known Traveller Number (KTN) or Customs and Border Protection (CBP)-issued PASSID in their Virgin Atlantic reservations and are pre-approved will then see the TSA Preü indicator on their mobile or printed boarding passes. Eligible customers will then be led to TSA Preülanes within an airport’s security screen area to proceed through an accelerated screening process.
Mark Anderson, Executive Vice President, Customer, Virgin Atlantic, commented: “We’re thrilled to be the first UK airline to offer our customers the ability to expedite their security screening process in the US using TSA Preü. We’re always looking for ways to make our customers’ journeys more enjoyable, and that’s why we’re partnering with the TSA to offer our customers TSA Preü on flights from the US to the UK so they have a stress-free journey from the moment they enter the airport to the point that they arrive at their final destination.”
Customers can find out when and where TSA Preü lanes are available by visiting https://www.tsa.gov/precheck/schedule. If a lane is not available for a flight, customers can show their TSA Preü boarding pass to receive expedited screening in a standard lane.
